Registered Nurse - Telemetry (ED Holds)
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Day shifts, 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, with self-scheduling available, 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule, and holiday rotation with permanent staff
Candidate Pay Rate: $57.40 per hour

Deliver expert cardiac telemetry care to patients waiting for an inpatient bed
Titrate cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone per physician orders and parameters
Monitor vital signs and document everything accurately in Cerner
Jump in to help ED patients with vitals, IV starts, and medication administration when needed
Float across med/surg, tele, and overflow units to support wherever the need is greatest
Active Registered Nurse license with the ability to submit for licensure
Comfortable decreasing and titrating cardiac drips based on physician orders and parameters
Prior travel experience is not required, so if you are ready for your first adventure, we would love to hear from you
Common diagnoses/Types of patients ED holds waiting for placement on a unit, primarily MS/Tele
Must be able to decrease cardiac drips per physicians’ orders and parameters. (Please confirm this experience on notes- updated cardiac gtts per Tracey 1.29.20 KR) Nurses will be caring for more tele patients VS medical. (MS/Tele travlers DO NOT need prior travel experience, per Tracey Greene 6.9.2022- LMussmann)
Charge Nurse/House Supervisor ED charge nurse.
Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios ED PCTs available
RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, Bi Pap, etc) No Vents
Is there tele on this unit? Nurses must be able to read & interpret strips. Shifts & Scheduling 12 hr shifts (7a - 7p or 7p - 7a) Ability to self-schedule
Weekend Requirement 4 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule.
Holiday Requirement Rotate in with the perm staff
Floating Requirements Would float to med/surg/tele/overflow units and CRMC/MGMC Eds as needed.
Unit/Department specific orientation 2 shifts orientation to Med/Surg/Tele at primary campus.
Additional Notes Will be caring for patients from the ER who are waiting on a bed in the hospital.
Additional Questions May be asked to help with ED patients including vitals, IV starts and medicaton administration. Will not be asked to be primary RN for ED patient assignment.
