Experience: Minimum of one year previous perioperative experience or on-the-job training
Current and valid state RN license
Must-Have: Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification preferred
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
EPIC EMR experience
The staff RN is directly accountable to the OR Charge Nurse and the Director of Surgical Services.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting.
Care is provided through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
This applies to neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and older adults.
The Registered Nurse coordinates the care of patients with the surgeon and anesthesiologist.
Maintaining standards of professional nursing is essential.
The Registered Nurse works with other departments to provide a continuum of care.
They collaborate with co-workers to ensure continuous, quality patient care.
Efficient patient flow and unit maintenance and organization are also responsibilities.
Compliance with regulations, standards, and hospital or unit policies and procedures is required.
Participation in performance improvement activities, unit meetings, and in-services is expected.
The RN acts as a resource for other personnel as appropriate.
The RN must be able to take call.
