Encourages a sense of community among students for learning both inside and outside the classroom.Refers students to appropriate student and academic support services available at the College or in the community.Belonging and AccessHelps to ensure the College meets its responsibilities in identifying areas of opportunity and systemic concerns while reporting complaints alleging discrimination.Fosters and maintains a safe environment of respect for faculty, staff, students, and members of the community.All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.Education and Experience:Minimum QualificationsMaster's degree in Engineering; or master's degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Electrical EngineeringAll educational degrees must be from a regional accredited institutionMust have passion for teaching in engineeringPossesses excellent communication skills (verbal and written)Ability to use innovative teaching techniquesFamiliarity with distance learning and willingness to use technology tools in instructionAbility to use collaborative learning techniques and student-centered methods of instructionAbility to work well with students and colleagues in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environmentMust be able to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignmentsPreferred QualificationsMinimum two (2) years college teaching experienceMinimum two (2) years related industrial experienceMust have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction.All Applications must include a Cover Letter and an Unofficial TranscriptIvy Tech is committed to supporting the well-being, growth, and financial security of our part-time employees.
