Travel Nursing Job Details
Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (ER RN)
Shift: 12-hour nights (7:30pm - 8:00am), every other weekend and major holidays required
Unit Size: 30 beds, 14 Fast Track beds, additional hallway beds as needed
Patient Population: All ages, non-trauma ER
Local Candidates: Not accepted (must be outside 50-mile radius)
RN Qualifications Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (required)
Minimum 1 year of recent adult Emergency Department nursing experience (required)
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI/De-escalation training certifications (required)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Recent Emergency Department or Critical Care RN experience preferred
EPIC EHR training preferred
ER Nurse Responsibilities Deliver, coordinate, and evaluate patient-centered nursing care in the Emergency Department
Supervise licensed and unlicensed healthcare associates in clinical support roles
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications safely and according to hospital policies
Coordinate patient care across hospital departments and with external agencies
Serve as a patient safety advocate and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Manage the physical and emotional demands of emergency nursing in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Provide care for patients of all ages with a variety of acute medical needs
Utilize lifesaving equipment and respond effectively to emergency situations
