Experience: Less than 1 year of direct patient care
RN - Reg Nurse or RN-COMPACT
Completion of Accredited/approved school of nursing with requisite clinical hours

• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in a composed and respectful manner
• Ability to read, write, and speak English; basic computer skills

The RN Clinical Periop Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team that ensures patients and their families receive individualized, high-quality, and safe patient care.
They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders.
The framework for practice is guided by professional practice models, evidence-based practices, and nursing research.

As a member of the patient services team, the individual is expected to uphold the voice of the patient and system policies while supporting service excellence goals.
The RN performs the Nursing Process, including assessment; planning; implementation; They utilize analytical/critical thinking to ensure that care is individualized while coordinating care through effective partnerships.
Patient-centered care is consistently provided in a manner that reflects understanding of cultural diversity.

The RN partners with patients and significant others appropriately, with a focus on making the patients' goals the priority in the care plan.
They practice using current clinical practice standards and coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care.
Participation in performance improvement initiatives is expected, including research utilization and support for stakeholder inclusion.
The RN is responsible for completing professional competency assessments and required education continuously.
In addition, serving as a preceptor or mentor for other nursing professionals is part of the role to ensure a qualified workforce.

The RN promotes evidence-based practice and nursing research while participating in data collection and posing relevant clinical questions.
The RN complies with all organizational policies, standards, and regulations related to the role.
