Industrial Engineering and Continuous Improvement

Industrial Engineer (Lynchburg, VA)
The Industrial Engineer (IE) supports Distribution Center performance through the development of engineered labor standards, continuous improvement initiatives, and automation/capital projects. This role applies industrial engineering principles and data analysis to improve productivity, service, safety, quality, and cost.
Analyze labor performance, utilization, and productivity trends; Establish learning curves, performance expectations, and standard productivity targets in partnership with Operations.
Train supervisors and managers on LMS usage, engineered standards, and performance reporting.
Identify, prioritize, and lead process improvement initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma tools.
Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Lead root-cause analysis for productivity, quality, service, and safety issues.
Automation, Technology & Capital Projects

Identify opportunities for automation, mechanization, and material handling enhancements.
Support solution design, vendor evaluation, and implementation.
Create facility and equipment layouts using AutoCAD or similar tools.
Validate performance of implemented solutions and support sustainment.
Partner with Operations, Maintenance, IT, Safety, and external vendors to implement improvements.
Participate in special projects and occasional travel.
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.

• 2+ years of experience in distribution, fulfillment, or manufacturing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
• AutoCAD experience preferred.
