Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care for adult cardiovascular surgery patients, with emphasis on open-heart procedures.
• Serve as circulating nurse, assisting the surgeon and maintaining a sterile field throughout cases.
• Monitor intraoperative patient status, including vitals and anesthesia effects; respond to changes promptly.
• Manage instrument counts, equipment readiness, and efficient room turnover between cases.
• Ensure patient safety and adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
• Document intraoperative events and coordinate accurate handoffs to the post-anesthesia/critical care team.

Requirements

• Active RN license in Georgia.
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR experience.
• BLS certification required (AHA).
• Preferred: Certification in Surgical Technology (NBSTA or NCCT).
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with six days of on-call per month; no block scheduling.
• Holiday/call requirements: must work two major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, or New Year’s Day) and one minor holiday (e.g., Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year’s Eve) per assignment.
