Camp Cleaning and Preparation PositionCleaning and preparation of buildings to provide Camp users with clean facilities and supplies to make their stay at Camp a positive experience. This includes maintaining the cleanliness of our 50+ cabins, a conference center that holds 64 guests, 3 dining halls, multiple meeting rooms, camp offices, etc. The work we do requires a fast paced environment while ensuring thorough cleaning of all living and dining spaces.Availability:Saturdays and Sundays, from 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. During the summer/busy season, days and hours of work are generally Saturday, Sunday, and weekdays. We typically work 7-3:30pm regardless of the day.Must be able to successfully pass a National Background checkMust have driver's license and clean driving recordAt least 18 years old preferred; we currently are staffed with under 18 at this timeEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Excellence cleaning cabins and out buildings as guests turnover after each stayReport and return any guest properties found in areas while rendering serviceReport cases of property damage in spaces to the supervisor Work with a team of housekeepers on each shiftClean, disinfect and store all equipment at the end of the shift Monitor and report on the inventory of cleaning suppliesRespond to calls for housekeeping problems, such as spills and broken glassCollect and remove trash and debrisAssist with laundry management, including washing, drying, ironing and sorting linenReport, turn in and log all lost and found itemsPerform detailed deep cleans when requiredMust be able to work well with others in a team-oriented environmentMust be dependable, a commitment to the work schedule and hours is essential for camp's ability to meet our cleaning demandsCleaning/Maintenance and UpkeepDeep cleaning Dining Halls and BathroomsClean up and Set-Up of all meeting rooms- May require a lot of cleaning.SweepingBuilding CleaningWindow WashingDusting Furniture and beautifying buildings and cabins and campgroundsMaintaining cleaning equipmentOpening and Closing CabinsLaundryRequired Education/License/Certification/Physical DemandsMust be able to pass routine and regular criminal background checks as a requirement of continued employmentMust be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be highly motivated, and able to work on a team.This position does require an individual to work independently; ability to exercise judgment and make decisions without direct supervision at times is needed.Must be able to lift, bend, twist, stoop, and have good hand dexterityAbility to push and pull loads, good physical health including ability to lift and carry objects up to 40 pounds in weightBe able to roll 6' round tablesMust be able to stand for 8-10 hours per dayMay be required to work more than an eight-hour days and weekendsMust be able to be in presence of cleaning chemicals and other hazards; individuals with respiratory problems should not apply. PPE providedWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and converse with employees, maintain a stationary position (standing and sitting), move/traverse, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time.The worker may be required to operate in close quarters, crawl spaces, small rooms, and narrow aisles and passageways.
