#Our client, a national leader in title insurance and escrow services , is seeking experienced Senior Title Underwriting Counsel to join its Agency Division in Stamford, Connecticut. These hybrid roles offers the opportunity to serve as a trusted legal advisor on complex commercial real estate title insurance matters, providing title insurance underwriting guidance, risk analysis, and transactional support to internal teams, agents, and customers.
The positions are ideal for a seasoned attorney who brings deep knowledge of real estate law, title insurance underwriting, and regulatory compliance, along with a collaborative and solutions‑oriented mindset. The successful candidates will bring strong judgment, customer-centric communication skills, and the ability to manage a diverse pipeline of commercial transactions while applying title insurance underwriting standards and company guidelines.

JD from an ABA-accredited law school required.

• 5+ years of substantive experience in title insurance underwriting or comparable commercial real estate experience in a law firm setting.
• General understanding of the process of title insurance underwriting real estate transactions for the issuance of title insurance policies .
• Must be familiar with applicable Connecticut real estate law , including federal and state regulations.
• Strong relationship-building skills with internal stakeholders and externally, with clients and others.
• Strong analytical skills, detail oriented, with the ability to assess risk and provide practical solutions.
• Creative, solution-oriented approach to resolving complex title challenges.
• Ability to work hybrid 4 days a week office, initially.

Provide title insurance underwriting support, counsel, and authorization to company personnel, agents, and customers, related to the issuance of real estate title insurance commitments and policies.
Provide guidance to company personnel in the performance of real estate settlement services.
Prepare and present educational content (in-person and/or remote) for the benefit of company personnel, agents and/or customers.
