Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist
Wednesday - Sunday 1:30pm - 10:00pm

The Medical Laboratory Scientist conducts analysis of body fluids, including blood, urine, and spinal fluid, to determine presence of normal or abnormal components. Areas of accountability will include, but are not limited to, the following disciplines: transfusion services, chemistry, coagulation, hematology, microbiology, immunology, molecular diagnostics, toxicology and urinalysis.

Detects testing anomalies and correlates quantitative, biochemical, physiologic and morphologic data to verify the validity of test results.
Participate in the Laboratory Quality Assurance Plan; including but not limited to, method evaluation, teaching/training, point-of-care testing and new procedure implementation, inspection readiness, QA evaluations and improvements.
Adheres to QC policies and procedures, identifying areas in need of improvement.
Documents all testing performance measures (maintenance, temps, QC, trouble-shooting logs, etc.) Must have earned a doctoral, master's, or bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical or biological science, or a bachelor's degree in medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
Education must be verified by a credentialing agency if the bachelor's degree was obtained outside of the United States.
New graduates have 6 months after employment to pass the test.
Demonstrates the skill and knowledge of a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
Complies with all department and organization policies.
Exemplify customer service when communicating with patients, providers, and peers (within the lab and hospital wide).
Basic computer skills.
