The Cultural Ambassador Supervisor coordinates and oversees cultural and language services for UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper facilities, ensuring smooth operations, adherence to policies, and high performance by the team.
Supervision & Operations:
Supervise Cultural Ambassador team members, including task distribution, shift scheduling, and monitoring projects to ensure acceptable performance standards are maintained.
Implement policies and procedures, and enforce departmental rules and regulations established by leadership.
Hold team members accountable for customer service standards and initiate remediation when needed.
Employ technology and other resources to provide Language and Sign Language Services to different departments within the assigned facility.
Drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed

Provide face-to-face medical interpreting for all UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper Interdisciplinary Team members.
Provide telephone interpretation services, as needed.
Translate system documents to Spanish.
Coordinate translation of documents for other language types.
Provide medical document translations for UVA Community Health facilities, as needed.

Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.
National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (NBCMI) or Certified Healthcare Interpreter (CHI).
Proficient in the use of computer software, including the Microsoft Office suite or similar. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. It may be amended at any time at the sole discretion of UVA Community Health.
