Cook- Full & Part Time Position (weekends & evenings required)

Status: Hourly non-exempt, represented, 2 positions available:

• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 11AM-7PM (full time)
• Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 1-7PM (part time)

About the Role: As a Pantry Cook at our Offsite Production Kitchen, you will work collaboratively with your coworkers to create the salads, soups, and entrees that are sold at our retail store locations. You will have the opportunity to help turn top-notch, high quality ingredients into delicious, outstanding dishes.

You're able to maintain a clean cooking station and enjoy working with others to create mouth-watering dishes. What You'll Do: You will work with others in the kitchen to ensure that the department is operating at its best and fully staffed. Efficiently plan food preparations
Strictly document to effectively meet HACCP standards
Ensure that all recipes and food preparations are tasty, fresh, and attractive
Maintain hand hygiene and personal cleanliness including clean clothes and chef coats
Inform supervisors of low stock on ingredients to minimize out of stocks
Participate in kitchen deep cleaning projects and inventories
Assist kitchen clerks and bakery staff as needed
Participate in thoroughly cleaning the kitchen according to the closing checklist
Abide by all co-op policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and other company documents
Participate in required training and meetings
Keep the kitchen orderly and clean

~ Prior experience working as a prep cook
Outstanding customer service skills
Effective communication skills in English
Flexible schedule, available daytime, evening and weekend hours

Work Environment: Fast paced kitchen production environment with kitchen production machines and equipment and in cold/hot working conditions (i.e. cooler or near stove). Other moderate noise including but not limited to computers, paging, telephones and human voices.
