Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Charlottesville, Virginia.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: ED - Emergency Department\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 09/28/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 28, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 3\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level I or Level II trauma experience and a VA or compact RN license.Details\n \n Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I and Level II Trauma Center\n 13-week contract assignment\n Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)\n 36 or 48 hours per week\n Weekends required with scheduled days varying based on staffing needs\n Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed\n Every other holiday required, with no time off approved around Labor Day\n Uses Epic EMR\n Travelers must float within their scope of practice as needed\n Requirements\n \n Active RN license (VA or Compact) required, pending licenses accepted if in-hand by the Wednesday before start date\n Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC may be pending at submission but required before start)\n Minimum 2 years of ER experience required\n At least 1 year of Level I trauma experience or 2 years of Level II trauma experience required, including some pediatric experience\n Epic EMR experience required\n BSN preferred\n Additional Information\n \n Provide emergency department nursing care including triage of patients\n Maximum of 40 hours of RTO approved per 13-week contract, must be disclosed at time of consideration\n Any vacation time planned between offer acceptance and start date must be disclosed to arrange an appropriate start date\n Specialty-specific modules completed during orientation, recorded in Workday\n Previous UVA Health permanent staff or internal/external travelers require 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning\n External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return once this limit is reached\n No radius rule applies to this position\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-748040.
