At the Post and Courier in South Carolina, we have expanded across the state in recent years and we remain invested in our communities and the importance of powerful, in-depth journalism. This team and their colleagues across the newsroom prove every day how vital newspapers still are.

Women have greater protections from domestic violence. A powerful prosecutor and sheriffs have been forced from office over misconduct findings. The Post and Courier, winner of the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service and a six-time Pulitzer finalist since 2011, is looking to build on that record by adding an accomplished investigative reporter with exceptional narrative writing skills to its public service/watchdog team.

The position also offers plenty of opportunities to work independently and with other members of the projects team on long-term investigations, including installments of our acclaimed Uncovered series that shine a light on government corruption. You have strong writing skills, a love of language and a constant desire to hone your craft.

You enjoy coaching and working with less experienced but enthusiastic journalists across our news organization.
