Forklift Operator
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join a busy warehouse and distribution center team. In this role, you operate stand-up forklifts and pallet jacks, accurately assign and pick orders, label packages, and assist with loading and unloading trailers to meet tight shipping deadlines. You use RF scanners to manage inventory and play a key part in maintaining an organized, safe, and efficient operation in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities

Operate stand-up forklifts and pallet jacks to move, locate, relocate, and stack products safely and efficiently.
Perform order picking and assign orders to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
Label packages clearly and correctly in accordance with company standards and shipping requirements.
Assist in loading and unloading trailers to ensure shipments meet tight deadlines.
Use RF scanners to track, manage, and update inventory records in real time.
Support shipping and receiving activities, including checking, packing, and staging materials.
Handle material movement throughout the warehouse, including palletizing, packing, and unloading products.
Operate sit-down forklifts and reach trucks as needed to support production and warehouse operations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper storage of materials and equipment.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including equipment operation guidelines and warehouse safety rules.
Perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts and related equipment and promptly report any issues.
Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow, productivity, and overall warehouse efficiency.
Contribute to inventory control by accurately picking, packing, and recording product movements.
Essential Skills

Proven experience operating stand-up forklifts and pallet jacks in a warehouse or distribution environment.
Hands-on experience using RF scanners for inventory tracking and order management.
Demonstrated ability in material handling, including loading, unloading, and moving products safely.
Proficiency in order picking, packing, and shipping and receiving processes.
Ability to operate sit-down forklifts and reach trucks as required.
Strong organizational and time management skills to meet tight shipping deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in labeling, picking, and inventory tasks.
Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
Capability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a team.
Good communication skills and a consistently positive, cooperative attitude.
Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience working in a warehouse or distribution center setting, ideally with HVAC or plumbing-related products.
Familiarity with production support tasks such as staging materials and organizing workflow.
Comfort using various warehouse tools and equipment, including pallet jacks, RF scanners, and forklifts.
Reliability and strong work ethic, with a focus on meeting performance and quality standards.
Willingness to learn new processes and take on additional responsibilities as the operation grows.
Interest in long-term career growth within warehouse operations and branch management pathways.

Work Environment
This role is based in a warehouse and distribution center that supports HVAC and plumbing products, with a team of about 10 people in the warehouse. You work in a fast-paced, physically active setting that involves frequent movement, lifting, and operating stand-up and sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and RF scanners. The environment focuses on safety, organization, and teamwork, with clear processes for shipping, receiving, inventory control, and production support. Typical hours follow standard warehouse operations, and attire is practical and suitable for physical work around equipment and materials.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seaford, DE.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
