Summary of the Job
This position has primary responsibility for cytologic evaluation of body samples.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Job duties include the following; other duties may be assigned.

Evaluate microscopic slides including gynecological, non‑gynecological, and FNA slides.

Assist with FNA procedures.

Maintain QC and workload data.

Maintain a clean work environment.

Send specialized testing to reference laboratories.

Maintain archival slide/ block files.

Perform patient and specimen computer data entry.

Must have an understanding of Cytology, Histology, Anatomy, and Immunohistochemical procedures.

Must be familiar with and follow all safety procedures.

Must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to access data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to the patient's age, specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.
