Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide direct patient care within a psychiatric care setting, ensuring the delivery of safe, therapeutic, and patient-centered nursing services. The RN will be responsible for clinical assessments, medication administration, supervision of nursing staff, and supporting treatment programs that promote patient recovery and skill development.
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer, and document medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.
• Perform venipuncture and collect laboratory specimens as required.
• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and ensure accurate documentation per established guidelines.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in health status.
• Promote and support therapeutic programs, including Treatment Mall activities and Therapeutic Community Meetings.
• Provide health education to patients and families through group sessions and individualized instruction.
• Complete and/or oversee Daily Assignment Sheets to ensure proper staffing and task allocation.
• Supervise and guide subordinate nursing staff to ensure safe and effective delivery of care.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment based on patient acuity levels.
• Utilize crisis intervention techniques in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, facility protocols, and patient safety requirements.

Work Schedule & Conditions
• Shifts Available:
o Days: 6:15 AM - 2:45 PM
o Evenings: 2:15 PM - 10:45 PM
o Nights: 10:15 PM - 6:45 AM

• Overtime: Not required
• Travel: Not required
• Holidays: Required to work New York State holidays as scheduled

Qualifications & Requirements

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York
• Experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, or clinical settings preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills
• Ability to supervise and support nursing staff effectively
• Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and therapeutic care practices
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and quality care

Additional Information

• Max Bill Rate: $140/hour (No VMS Fee & NBO)
