Day Custodian (School Cleaning)

Job TitleFollow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain the district's standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferredJob Requirements- Ability to maintain a high level of cleanliness and attention to detail.- Strong time management skills to complete tasks efficiently.- Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects if required.- Good communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.- Exhibits good judgment in decision making and problem solving.- Demonstrates proper equipment care, proper use of equipment, and maintenance.- Follows all safety procedures and district standards.- Assists with opening and/or closing buildings each school day.- Follow established procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities.- Represents a positive role model for students and conveys a positive image for staff and community.Working Conditions- Posture: Frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, repeated bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting Motion: Frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching, and overhead reaching- Lifting: Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over) on a daily basis- Environment: Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, excessive humidity; exposure to dust, toxic chemicals and materials; regularly work irregular hours; occasional prolonged hours; work on ladders; work alone, work with others, and wear a safety belt- Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stressWage/Hour Status: Non-ExemptPay Grade : Auxiliary 1Reports to : Director of OperationsNote: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
