We’re Hiring! Seeking a Human Resources Director
The City of Columbia is seeking a strategic, experienced Human Resources Director to provide executive leadership over HR operations, total rewards and workforce development. Reporting to the City Manager, the HR Director serves as a key advisor on workforce strategy, labor relations, regulatory compliance and fiscal stewardship of the City’s self-funded health plan.

Strategic Leadership and Advisory: Directs HR operations, budget, and policy development and administration; collaborates with leadership to align HR strategy with City priorities.

Labor Relations and EEO: Serves as EEO officer; oversees complex employee investigations, grievances and complaints; serves as a key member of the City’s labor negotiating team.

Self-Funded Health Plan Administration: Exercises oversight over the self-funded health plan.

Talent Acquisition and Compensation: Directs citywide workforce selection and hiring processes, retention strategies, classification and pay plan, market analyses and total rewards programs.

Bachelor’s degree in HR, Public Administration, Labor Relations or a related field.

Experience: 9+ years in public sector HR or municipal administration, including previous supervisory experience.
