Shift: 1st and 2nd Hours per Shift: First shift hours are either 0500-1330 or 0600-1430. Second shift hours are either 1100-1930, 1300-2130, or 1330-2200. Weekend rotation and possible holidays included.

Experience: Minimum two years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.

License: MLT or MLS Certification required within 1 year of hire.

Laboratory procedures

Quality control

Performs laboratory procedures using established and approved protocols that require broad exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with minimal technical supervision. Responsible for quality control, instrument maintenance, and specimen procurement and processing. Performs blood collection duties in a timely manner to ensure availability of test results as needed. Notifies leadership of potential problems immediately to avoid compromising patient care. Adjusts to fluctuating workloads and positively cooperates in situations where additional work is required. Completes special projects as assigned, utilizing LIS, EMR, and other tools and resources as appropriate. If workload permits, voluntarily completes extra projects, duties, or studies as coordinated by leadership. Consistently and accurately performs required quality control procedures and documents results as specified by each procedure. Documents out of control situations, providing details of the situation and results of the corrective action taken. Performs and documents required instrument maintenance as specified. Communicates with peers regarding instrument and equipment problems and notifies leadership in a timely manner. Documents instrument problems, providing details of the situation and results of the corrective action taken. Actively participates in student and new employee training. Covers training materials thoroughly and provides information regarding the principles and theories of the technical procedures. Assists in developing training curriculum. Follows required performance improvement plans as needed. Effectively communicates both verbally and in writing. Addresses customer inquiries, requests, and concerns thoroughly, following through positively and appropriately. Suggests process improvement opportunities and looks for innovative ways to enhance error prevention. Medical, dental & vision insurance
