Hotel Restaurant Server - Bartender

Job Summary

The Bartender will mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to patrons of the hotel, directly or through servers following standard recipe(s).

Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Duties & Responsibilities

Clean, set up, and stock the bar and all related areas as determined by my manager, opening duties, service manuals and job description.

Check the service station's bar requisitions to ensure correct set-up and cleanliness.

Check with the manager on duty regarding any special needs.

Follow all sequence of service guidelines according to the manual and job description. Mixes ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.

Serves wine and other draught or bottled beer.

Collects money for drinks served.

Orders and requisitions of liquors and supplies.

Places bottled goods and glasses to make an attractive display.

Cleans bar and restocks glasses.

May slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.

Maintains bar cleanliness and completes daily cleaning duties.

Replenishes beverages as necessary and checks with guests for overall satisfaction.

Inventories and puts away the liquor in proper storage space.

Assist the Restaurant dining services (if necessary), when and where appropriate.

Assist with seating guests. (if necessary)

At the end of each shift, ensure all tables and chairs are clean for the next meal period.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Excellent interpersonal skills and focus on serving customers.

Ability to remain calm when dealing with unruly and argumentative patrons.

Ability to learn cash register software used.

Education & Experience

Completion of mixology, barkeeping, or other related training required.

At least one year of related experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods standing and preparing drinks.

Ability to complete orders quickly and accurately.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Must be legal drinking age or older.
