Description The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing all purchasing activities at Diode Dynamics, ensuring efficient procurement processes that support our manufacturing operations and distribution needs. This role relies heavily on capabilities in supply chain strategy and cost management, providing purchasing forecasts to vendors, employing strategies to reduce inventory carrying levels and lead times, and working to optimize total purchase cost.This position reports to the Director of Supply Chain and COO, is supported by Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) and Sourcing, and collaborates closely with production, sales, and engineering teams in an energetic and technology-driven culture.Responsibilities Plan, create, release, and track purchase orders and receipts through closure to align with production and supply chain needs.
Communicate with domestic and overseas suppliers on pricing, lead times, quantities, requirements, acknowledgements, and shipment readiness.
Coordinate inbound shipments with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal warehouse teams.
Maintain accurate purchasing master data in ERP systems, including pricing, lead times, MOQs, delivery schedules, and supplier records.
Lead cost-reduction initiatives, including supplier negotiations and inbound freight cost reduction.
Improve overall supply chain performance and stability by issuing vendor forecasts and utilizing vendor-managed inventory programs wherever possible.
Negotiate favorable payment terms, shipping terms, and overall vendor relationships to meet company goals.
Track and report on key supply chain metrics, including Supplier On-Time Delivery, expedited shipping costs, purchasing cost to target, inventory turnover rate, and product availability.
Respond to internal inquiries on order status, material availability, and delivery timing; contribute to data tracking and improvement initiatives for material flow and execution.
Qualifications At least 5years of experience in a supply chain or purchasing role within automotive, electronics, or consumer goods industries.
Master's or equivalent in Supply Chain Management is preferred.
Technically proficient and comfortable working within cloud-based ERP software. 95% of your work will be within odoo, our cloud-based ERP.
On-site attendance required, this position is not remote. Working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am - 4 pm
