Provides critical staffing to multiple patient care areas including the Inpatient Unit, Oncology/Specialty Clinic, Quality of Life Center/Internal Medicine Clinic, and Perioperative Services.

Administers and monitors patients undergoing sedation/analgesia per physician order and hospital protocol.

Completion of Basic Electrocardiogram (ECG) course in online learning management system.

Ability to care for patients with IV lines, central lines, ports, chest tubes, pleural catheters, and tracheostomy tubes.

Maintenance and care of patients with an ostomy/ileostomy and urostomy.

Administer medications via all routes, using the 6 rights, medication bar scanner and monitoring patient for side effects.

Care for, assess and monitor patients with Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA) and epidural catheters.

Conducts and reinforces patient education, including: treatment plan/regimen, financial implications of care, symptom management, side effects, patient family responsibilities related to self-care, available resources at home or at facility.

Assesses needs and coordinates services, inside and outside to meet needs including, but not limited to, medications, equipment and home care services.

Ability to care for patients receiving intravesical therapy via urinary catheter.

Care and assess wounds utilizing wet to dry dressing, staple and suture removal, surgical tape and wound drain removal.

3 years experience in Telemetry

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent
  • Arizona Registered Nurse License or a Registered Nurse License form a Compact State
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification- an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training site, American Safety & Health Institute, or Red Cross BLS certification is required upon hire and renewal every two years. Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) / ONCC Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Certificate Course within 6 months of hire and renewal every two years.
