Job Summary:

The healthcare provider is seeking an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a rotation position in Wausau, Wisconsin. The role involves working in a 36-bed med-surg intermediate care unit with a focus on heavy telemetry. The position offers a flexible schedule with 12-hour shifts, and the assignment is slated for an initial duration of 13 weeks, starting as soon as possible.

Job Details:

Location: Wausau, Wisconsin

Schedule: Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license, BLS, ACLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross), minimum of 2+ years of experience in step-down, intermediate care, or progressive care units; ICU experience preferred; trauma Level II experience preferred; ventilator and trach experience required; at least 1 prior travel experience required; charting experience with EPIC preferred.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Nursing.

Clinical Responsibilities: Care for primary patient population including stable, weaning ventilators and trachs, sepsis, trauma alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, orthopedic trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke patients. Maintain a patient ratio of 4:1.

Unit Details: Heavy telemetry, 36 beds, 22 beds in the med-surg intermediate care unit.

Float Requirements: All inpatient units, as needed, typically floating to higher acuity units.

Holiday and Weekend Rotation: Every other holiday and weekend.

Additional Notes: High-paced environment requiring resilient, social candidates who can manage change independently and complete tasks promptly. Scrub colors are flexible. During flu season, vaccination decliners must wear masks at all times, compliance is mandatory.
