Vision To Learn is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization providing vision screenings, eye exams, and glasses to K12 students in underserved communities across the U.Using mobile vision clinicsoptometric exam rooms on wheelswe bring essential eye care directly to schools and community centers so every child can see clearly and learn confidently.

Since 2012, Vision To Learn has provided more than 3.8 million vision screenings, 800,000 eye exams, and 650,000 pairs of glasses to children in need across the nation. We are looking for an Optician like you to join our team with a positive, proactive attitude, and commitment to our mission.

Vision To Learn is currently seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time Oregon Optician. Work hours are Monday through Friday. The Optician will primarily work during school hours, and this position will start in December.

Oversee assigned mobile eye clinic operation

Study and follow Vision To Learn health and safety protocols

Clinic Responsibilities:

Setup the clinic, monitor and replenish inventory, and ensure all patient and administrative paperwork facilitates an efficient workflow each workday

As necessary, setup and breakdown the inside lane operation

Ability to display exceptional interpersonal skills when interacting with children, site contacts, patient families, and in all internal/external work interactions

Self-starter who is confident to implement Vision To Learn protocols and embrace a remote setting with limited supervision

and to exert well-paced mobility for an 8-hour shift including standing, walking, bending and squatting

Optician Diploma; Optician Certification (COA, COT, NCLE, and ABO) preferred, but not required

Valid driver's license required, with a good driving record and familiarity with Klamath Falls area geography and with phone GPS; Successful track record of working with children and diverse types of people

Experience using Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, Word; ability to quickly learn EHR reporting, and project management systems is a plus

Spanish skills a plus
