Nursing Assistant II-Neuro and Cardiology unit, Telemetry, 3E
Location:Baptist Health Lexington - Lexington, KY
Schedule:Part-time | 3rd Shift (Nights) | 12-hour shifts | 2 days per week
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or licensed care team member, the Nursing Assistant II provides direct patient care and support services to patients and families. This role performs selected nursing procedures and routine patient care to assist nursing personnel in treatment, comfort, and safety.

UNIT DESCRIPTION

3E is a 19 bed telemetry unit, specializing in neurology and medical cardiology patients. The staff on 3E care for patients who come to BHL for our Comprehensive Stoke Care Program and nurses on 3E have additional certifications and training to provide high quality care to our Stoke population. Patient are admitted from the ED, ICU or direct admits on this unit.
Provide hands-on care to postpartum mothers and newborns
Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, feeding, hygiene)
Perform blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, venipuncture, and specimen collection as delegated
Support ambulation, transfers, and postpartum recovery needs
Assist with admissions, discharges, and transitions of care
Participate in unit tasks including restocking supplies, linen management, and basic clerical duties
High School Diploma or GED required
Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required

OR completion of first year of nursing school with successful clinical validation
~ Previous healthcare experience preferred but not required
Ability to work effectively as part of a care team
