Manufacturing Inventory / Material Handler

Job Title: Material Handler
The Material Handler B plays a pivotal role in our electronics manufacturing environment, tasked with the crucial responsibility of receiving, inspecting, labeling, storing, issuing, and moving material to support production, inventory control, and program execution. The role requires maintaining accurate material transactions in ERP and inventory systems, supporting shipping, kitting, cycle counts, and audit readiness. You will collaborate with Purchasing, Planning, Production, Quality, and Finance to ensure materials are available, traceable, and compliant with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming material against purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation.
Record receipts, transfers, issues, and other material transactions accurately in ERP, property, or inventory systems.
Label, identify, and route material to the appropriate inspection, stockroom, warehouse, or production locations.
Store, issue, kit, and relocate material in accordance with work orders, pick lists, FIFO practices, and established material control procedures.
Maintain stockroom and warehouse organization, part identification, traceability, and housekeeping standards.
Prepare material for shipment, delivery, return, or transfer, including required documentation for RMAs, customer deliverables, and internal moves.
Support cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory discrepancy research and resolution.
Assist with internal and external audits, including document retrieval, transaction review, and material traceability.
Communicate material status, shortages, receiving issues, and transaction discrepancies to internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
Coordinate with Production, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, and Materials Management to support schedule execution and material flow.
Follow safety, security, export, and property control procedures while handling company inventory and government or customer-furnished property.
Support onsite warehouse, stockroom, and production operations, and occasional off-site work as needed.

High school diploma or equivalent with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or an associate degree or post-secondary coursework with 0-2 years of experience.
Knowledge of inventory control, lot or serial traceability, FIFO, cycle counting, and basic material transaction discipline.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to read and verify shipping and inventory documents.
Experience supporting electronics manufacturing or aerospace and defense operations.
Experience with Microsoft Business Central, Navision, or similar ERP platforms.
Experience with internal or external inventory or compliance audits.
Work in a semi-climate controlled, clean warehouse that ensures a comfortable and safe atmosphere for all employees.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfax, VA.
