Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) - Inpatient Burn - Rotational

James | Critical Care Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for providing health care services to patients within the parameters of a standard care or supervisory agreement with an attending physician member of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Collaborates with a physician(s) and other clinicians in providing a full scope of patient care. The focus is on preventive health or the management of acute and/or stable chronic conditions. Performs medical services that have been specifically authorized and directed by the credentialing body and the certifying organization through which they hold licensure.

The APP provides health care services to patients working in collaboration with a licensed physician member of the medical staff. Healthcare services provided include care during acute and chronic phases of illness, education, and counseling of individuals and families, health promotion and prevention, and referral to other healthcare providers and community resources when appropriate.

Current certificate of authority to practice as an APRN in the State of Ohio.

Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination of a national certifying organization recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing.

Master of Science Degree in Nursing.

Acute Care NP preferred.

RNFA preferred.

0-2 years of acute care experience preferred.

Graduate of a PA-C program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination recognized by the National Certification Commission for Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

0-2 years of acute care experience preferred.

Advanced Practice Provider

The Inpatient Burn Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a key member of the multidisciplinary Burn Program, providing comprehensive care to adult patients with thermal injuries, chemical burns, electrical burns, and complex wound needs. The APP works collaboratively with burn surgeons, nursing, therapy services, case management, and other specialists to deliver high quality, evidence based care across the continuum of inpatient burn treatment. In this role, the APP performs comprehensive assessments, develops and manages treatment plans, performs advanced wound and burn care procedures, and supports patients and families through all phases of recovery. This is an excellent opportunity for an APP interested in a highly collaborative environment, innovative surgical and non surgical burn care. Rotational shifts.
