Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required in education, counseling, socialwork, psychology, public administration, or a related field.

Direct experience in providing academic support, academicadvising, college application assistance, career exploration,economic literacy, and/or financial aid application assistance,specifically with high school or college students.

Experience managing small to mid-sized budgets, supervisingstudent staff or tutors, and maintaining accurate participantrecords.

Experience developing programs, events, trips, and workshopsfor students.

Experience providing academic advising services and college,career, financial aid, and economic literacy information to anassigned caseload of secondary school students (grades 6-12).

Effective writing and speaking skills.

Experience with computer software (Microsoft suite) anddatabase management platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work or arelated field.

Experience in planning educational and/or cultural trips.

2 years experience with academic advising, college, and careerpreparation, and the college exploration/application process.

Experience facilitating students/parents through the collegeadmission and financial aid process.

Bilingual (Spanish) speaking/writing.

Job Description:
This is a grant funded position. Continuation of this position iscontingent upon grant funding.Reports to the Director of TalentSearch Del Valle at Texas State University. The Talent SearchAustin Coordinator promotes educational achievement and the pursuitof post- secondary education enrollment for programparticipants.

The Grant Coordinator is responsible for developing and overseeingthe implementation of comprehensive services for programparticipants in the 6th to 12th grades at the program's targetschools.

Position located at target schools in Del Valle Texas withoccasional travel to the Texas State University campus in SanMarcos, Texas.

Evening and weekend work may be required.

Job Duties:

Assist with project recruitment.

Complete Individual Service Plans (ISP) and Needs Assessmentsannually for new and continuing participants.

Develop and implement innovative co-curricular programming forstudents and parents/guardians including workshops, trips, andevents.

Develop and oversee academic tutoring schedules for students toadhere to on a weekly basis. Ensure students effectively utilizetutoring services provided and communicate needs from tutors asappropriate.

Oversee the assessment and reporting of participant progress,personal growth, and academic performance.

Provide college admission and financial aid processinformation. Ensure that senior participants take appropriate stepstoward high school graduation and college enrollment.

Assist project director in maintenance of participant files andproject-specific documentation to ensure all appropriate servicesand contacts are entered into the student database; verifypromotion, retention, and graduation of all currentparticipants.

Assist with pre and post evaluations for participants andparents/guardians.

Monitor outcome objectives, collect data, and assist inpreparing annual performance reports/other reports asassigned.

Develop and maintain professional outreach networks withintarget area communities and schools, serving as a liaison and pointof contact as needed.

Participate in professional development opportunities topromote personal and professional growth.

Conduct other duties as assigned.
