The Marvin Group, a leading defense contractor, plays a crucial role in the development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles. Based in Southern California near the Los Angeles International Airport, The Marvin Group consists of Marvin Engineering (MEC), Marvin Test Solutions (MTS) and Marvin Land Systems (MLS). Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment. Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. Our collaboration extends across a diverse array of programs and platforms, including major military prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon.

This candidate will be responsible for monitoring supplier performance, strategizing, negotiations, and also interface with cross functions within Marvin to support manufacturing. This position is required to provide the best value solution that supports our supply chain goals including cost, quality, and on-time delivery. The right candidate should have experience in machining, fabrication and finishing, along with a good working knowledge of military level quality requirements and specifications.

Purchases materials, supplies and services at the most favorable terms for the organization
Tracks purchases, monitors vendor quality, and maintains a current database of vendor information
Coordinate work processes/approvals with senior management and internal customers
Display commitment to the on-time delivery of quality products

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Logistics, or related field is required

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with the procurement of machined and fabricated components
• Must have experience with purchasing in either Aerospace or Defense
• Capable of understanding and interpreting mechanical drawings
• Display a commitment to the on time delivery of quality products
• Have longstanding relationships within the manufacturing community
• Strategic thinker that utilizes creative and innovative problem solving approaches to achieve key company procurement goals
• Have high personal and professional integrity
• Ability to work in fast-paced manufacturing environment with on-time delivery as a priority
• Good working knowledge of computer software such as Word and Excel
• Strong mathematical and English communication skills
• Must be able to read/write/speak in English

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

This position will require 10% travel.
