RN - Labor & Delivery/Postpartum
• About Facility:

o Level 3 Trauma

o Teaching Hospital? Unit Information:

o Beds: 8 labor rooms, 3 triage rooms, 1 OR suite and 1 PACU

• 2 years in Labor and Delivery - ability to work LDRP

o Labor/Delivery/Postpartum/Newborn care

• o RN: Use AWHONN Staffing Guidelines
• 1:2 Inactive labor; 1:1 Active Labor; o CST: 1 per shift
• o Labor and Delivery Nurse skills - labor management, circulate cesarean sections, Pre-op, PACU, triage, resuscitation of newborns, Pitocin management, epidural management

o Charge nurse, 24/7

o Phlebotomy? Yes, for peripheral blood draws

o Resource Nurse? Yes, within hospital

o Hospitalist 24/7? Yes, for newborn care

o Telemetry monitoring/tech? Fetal Monitoring

• Technology/Equipment:

o EMR: Epic

o Unit specific equipment: Scales, Ultrasound, Ambulation assist device

• o Will be required to float per region needs - will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice - DECLINE if not agreeable
• If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)

• Orientation (facility and unit) :

o Weekend rotation: every other weekend

Can be called back up to 3a for Nights and up to 3p for Days

o Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays

o RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays - must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours

o Shift times: 7a-7p and 7p-7a

o Unit Culture:
