Develops, implements, and supervises programs to help residents achieve maximum capabilities, and to prevent or minimize new or progressive disabilities. Plans are developed for 100% of identified residents. Evaluates, prescribes designs, fabricates, requisitions, and coordinates implementation and repair of adaptive equipment. Coordinates with vendors, purchasing, fiscal, living units, and other departments.
Goals, objectives, and plans are identified for all patients receiving PT services within established time frames or of recommended changes and all target dates are current. Attends and actively participates in clinics and meetings. Provides direction and training to new staff, student interns, families, volunteers, and communities in physical management and PT-related services. Documents observations of plan implementation to assure service delivery and quality. Documents training and remediation sessions on required facility forms for R & T. Maintains clean and safe environments ensuring orderly work area throughout the unit are maintained. All other duties assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation.
Knowledge of assessment and treatment in general and neurodevelopmental physical therapy, standards of practice at ICF/MRs, and effective resource management principles. Ability to lead and coordinate work of the physical therapy department, and cross-functional departments as needed.
