CRT or RRT (Respiratory Therapy #)

Respiratory Therapist
This is a 13-week contract position.
Day shift, 3x12.0 hours.
The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport as medically prescribed. The role requires evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans, explaining procedures to patients, and ensuring necessary education is provided upon discharge.
Responsibilities:

Conduct physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory, oxygen, aerosol, and nebulizer devices.
Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning of patients using multiple methods.
Monitor oximetry and capnography according to policy.
Review patient chest x-rays to determine further evaluation needs.
Perform 12-Lead EKG and basic arrhythmia recognition.
Conduct pulmonary function studies and assist with respiratory care procedures.
Administer adequate drainage of the chest and perform tracheostomy care as required.
Perform arterial punctures and determine ventilation efficiency.
Execute cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.
Operate, maintain, and monitor mechanical ventilation on various types of equipment.
Document treatments and patient responses accurately in respiratory care records and charts.
Communicate with physicians regarding therapy efficiency and report on hand-off communication during shifts.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
Must hold a valid Respiratory Therapist license and certifications as required.
