The Food Service Aide performs a variety of food service functions in maintaining clean and sanitary conditions of food service areas, facilities, and equipment. The aide may also assist in some aspects of food preparation.
Handles food and equipment according to sanitation policies and procedures;
Is aware of safety regulations and responsibilities in operating all equipment;
Delivers food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas, including resident rooms and dining room, as instructed by supervisor;
Serves in dining rooms;
Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures;
Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights;
Ability to read, write, and understand directions in the English language. Previous Food Service Aide experience is helpful.

Working knowledge of the methods and techniques of handling and serving food.
Working knowledge of sanitation practices relating to food handling.
Ability to follow diet lists, portion food as specified, and serve food in an appetizing manner.
Possess the ability to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
Ability to read, write, speak, and follow written and oral directions in the English language.
Interacts with residents, families, visitors, and employees.
