Under general supervision, the Phlebotomist will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory duties, including specimen collection, processing, and waived testing. This position requires excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care.Monday through Friday between the hours 7:30am-4:30pm.capillary punctures using heel and finger stick techniques on patientsCollects, identifies, labels, and processes specimens according to protocolInstructs patients on urine collection procedures and allocates urine specimensPrepares equipment to efficiently collect blood productsCleans and sterilizes equipment, instruments, and work area and ensures preventive maintenance is performed on all equipment and monitorsMaintains knowledge of all routine containers and minimum volumes required for specimen collection, and complies with laboratory ordering and billing complianceEnters laboratory data accurately into the computer system and responds timely to abnormal and panic valuesDistributes laboratory reportsMonitors biohazard wasteAdheres to patient confidentiality policyAdheres to the organization and governmental standards, rules, and regulationsPrioritizes workload to efficiently provide Providers with the information necessaryPerforms clerical dutiesPromotes good customer service and demonstrates appropriate telephone etiquetteWhat are the reasons to consider working for UnitedHealth Group? The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment.
