Assistant Counsel, Legal and Compliance

The Assistant Legal Counsel will:
Provide legal advice and guidance on a wide range of issues affecting the organization, including compliance, contracts, and governance.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
Ensure the organization's compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
Collaborate with internal teams to address legal risks and support strategic initiatives.
Manage relationships with external legal counsel as needed.
Conduct legal research and provide clear, actionable guidance to stakeholders.
Support the development and implementation of policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks.
Stay updated on legal and regulatory developments relevant to the not-for-profit sector.

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in the United States.
Experience with legal issues related to non-profit organizations helpful but not essential.
Strong skills in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and agreements.
Ability to provide clear legal advice to diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in conducting legal research and applying relevant laws and regulations.
