Dessert Cook The Dessert Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality baked goods and pastries used during the Key West Cooking Show. Thiis role ensures consistency, creativity, proper food safety practices, and efficient back-of-house production that supports the live daily show environment.

REQUIREMENTS
Essential Functions
Prepare a variety of baked goods, including cakes, tarts, breads, cookies, pastries, and specialty desserts used in daily show segments.
Produce consistent, show-ready items that match required flavor profiles and presentation standards.
Execute prep lists and production schedules aligned with show times and guest volume.
Experiment with and develop new recipes that fit Key West culinary theme.
Ensure pastries are prepared and staged for demo segments and guest tastings.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work independently over long periods of time and in groups within the scope of established rules and regulations.
Ability to display a positive, energetic, and outwardly friendly attitude towards guests and coworkers.
Must possess strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading, and writing.
Comprehend and us technical or professional language, either written or spoken, to communicate complex ideas.
Demonstrate a high level of organizational skills, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a baker or pastry chef (professional or high-volume environment preferred)
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry fundamentals, and dessert presentation.
Creativity and passion for developing high-quality, memorable dessert.
Other Requirements
Must pass pre-employment background check and substance abuse testing.
Have a passion for helping people and making their Key West experience a memorable one.
Maintain necessary mandated food and drink certifications.
