The Welder is responsible for performing welding, cutting, and fabrication work to support daily operations in a scrap metal recycling facility. This position focuses on equipment repair, structural reinforcement, and fabrication projects related to mobile equipment, stationary processing equipment, containers, and yard infrastructure.
The ideal candidate has experience with MIG, stick, and torch cutting, can work safely in an industrial outdoor environment, and understands the demands of heavy equipment and recycling operations.
Perform MIG and stick welding on carbon steel and structural components
Torch cut and prepare metal equipment
Structural repairs on conveyors, balers, and processing equipment
Reinforce worn or damaged equipment components to extend service life
Assist maintenance team with repairs on: Processing equipment (balers, conveyors, downstream systems), mobile equipment attachments and structural components
Follow all OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and company safety policies
Identify unsafe conditions and report hazards immediately
Properly use PPE at all times in yard and plant environments
Communicate equipment condition, repair status, and maintenance priorities to supervisors
Coordinate closely with operations to minimize production downtime

• Technical certification or trade school training are preferred.
• 2-5 years experience as a welder with proficiency in MIG welding, Stick welding.
• Experience welding heavy gauge steel
• Welding Certifications preferred
• Work is performed in an industrial environment with exposure to noise, dust, varying temperatures and weather conditions.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
