The Physical Therapist is responsible for the physical therapy examination, evaluation, intervention planning and implementation, patient/client family instruction, and outcomes analysis within the scope of practice as defined by the State Department of New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs. The physical therapist is engaged in the processes of coordination, communication and documentation to ensure that the patient/client receives comprehensive, individualized and evidence based services. Throughout the episode of care the physical therapist is responsible for ensuring optimal functional independence, prevention of recurrence of problems and promotion of wellness oriented lifestyle. In addition, the physical therapist performs other professional duties and participates in department/facility/network initiatives based on needs and opportunities. Settings may include but not limited to inpatient (acute and rehab) and/or outpatient.

Prepares for the evaluation in accdance with department policies/procedures and standards of practice including obtaining patient history, performing systems review exhibiting knowledge of patient diagnoses and researching unfamiliar diagnoses.

Identifies need for consultations and/or refers the patient/client to another health care professional or health care services.

Provides and selects interventions based on the PT's assessment of the client's current condition which can include but is not limited to: patient and client instruction; prescription, application, and, as appropriate, fabrication or modification of assistive technologies; implementation of biophysical agents; motor/functional training; manual therapy techniques; functional training in self-care, domestic life, community and work integration and reintegration.

Collects and records patient care data that follows format and guidelines of the patient care service, regulatory agencies and third-party payers which reflects an understanding of reimbursement systems and their impact on patient care. Records daily billing and follows department guidelines for productivity, as well as adheres to insurance and state regulations on the billing of services rendered.

Provides appropriate direction and supervision to other personnel as assigned.

Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Graduate of a CAPTE accredited Physical Therapy Program or equivalent.

Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Physical Therapist License.

BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.

Compensation Minimum rate of $92,144.00 Annually HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members. Posted hourly rates may be stated as an annual salary in the offer and posted annual salaries may be stated as an hourly rate in the offer, depending on the level and nature of the job duties and credentials of the candidate. Labor Market Data: Compensation is benchmarked against market data to ensure competitiveness.

Years of relevant work experience.

Level of education attained, including specialized certifications, credentials, completed apprenticeship programs or advanced training.

Internal Equity: Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.

Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
