MachinistUnder close supervision, operates a limited number of hand tools and shop equipment to perform routine machining operations in the making of parts.ResponsibilitiesDeburring parts Buffer-Tumbler-Under-Scope-Bench workPerforms less complete machine operations or a limited number of machine tools such as drill presses, lathes power saws, shears, grinders, punch presses, honing machines, etc.Performs machine operations under supervision, and all work is frequently checked.Will change and/or sharpen cutting tool during operations, as supervised.Will be required to maintain tolerances by the use of dial indicators, micrometers, pin gauges and other measuring equipment.Required to read/understand simple blueprints (i.e. OD/ID, material requirements, limit tolerances).Notifies appropriate personnel of any known operation or process irregularities.Maintains equipment for daily use and keeps working area safe, clean and orderly.Will make simple setups under supervision.Reads, understands and adheres to Shop Safety Regulations.Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalentMinimum of six (6) months or less shop equipment operation experience.Must demonstrate manual dexterity.Able to understand/follow written and verbal instructions.Shop math requirements such as understanding high school mathematics, familiarity with and understanding measuring scales, and able to convert fractions to decimals.Stallant Systems is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
