Sheetfed Press Operator

As a Sheetfed Press Operator, you'll play a key role in producing high-quality printed products that exceed customer expectations. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a sheetfed printing press while ensuring exceptional print quality, production efficiency, and safety. Set up, operate, and monitor sheetfed printing press equipment to produce high-quality printed materials.

Review job tickets and verify production specifications before beginning each job.

Perform press make-readies, including plate changes, ink adjustments, and feeder setup.

Monitor print quality throughout production, making color and registration adjustments as needed to maintain customer specifications.

Conduct routine preventative maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of press equipment.

Perform quality inspections to ensure finished products meet company and customer standards.

Accurately complete production documentation and report production data.

Monitor inventory levels of inks, coatings, plates, and other press supplies.

Work closely with press assistants, prepress, and finishing departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of jobs.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company safety policies and procedures.

Assist with training or mentoring less experienced operators or press assistants as needed.

Additional experience with web offset printing presses a bonus

• Strong understanding of print production processes, color management, registration, and print quality standards.
• Ability to read and interpret job tickets and production specifications.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Basic computer skills for production reporting and job tracking.

Requires working around and operating departmental equipment.
