OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY Fox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. Are you ready to capture the stories that matter for one of the nation's most respected local newsrooms? FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is seeking an innovative, driven, and creative Photojournalist to join our award-winning news team. As part of Fox Corporation and Fox Television Stations, we deliver more hours of original local programming than any other station in the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia market. Our Photojournalists are visual storytellers who play a critical role in delivering compelling content across every platform where audiences consume news—including linear television, FOX LOCAL streaming, digital, social media, connected TV (CTV), and emerging platforms. This position is based in our state-of-the-art newsroom and studio in Bethesda, MD.
Tell Stories That Matter: Capture impactful local news, investigations, politics, sports, and breaking news that serve our community. Create Across Every Platform: Produce compelling visual content for broadcast, streaming, digital, social media, and connected TV audiences. Shoot and edit high‑quality video and sound that informs, engages, and connects with audiences across multiple platforms.
Own Breaking News: Respond quickly to breaking news and live events, delivering dynamic visual storytelling under deadline pressure.
Create for Every Screen: Produce content for linear television, FOX LOCAL streaming, digital platforms, social media, connected TV, and emerging distribution channels.
Operate Live Technology: Utilize LiveU, ENG equipment, drones, and other field technologies to deliver live coverage from the field.
Edit with Impact: Produce polished packages, live shots, digital video, and social content using non‑linear editing systems.
Collaborate Across the Newsroom: Partner with reporters, producers, assignment editors, digital teams, and newsroom leadership to develop compelling visual storytelling.
Bring story ideas, creative shooting techniques, and innovative approaches that enhance audience engagement across all platforms.
A passion for visual journalism with the ability to tell compelling stories through photography, natural sound, lighting, and editing.
Breaking News Mindset: Experience with professional ENG cameras, non‑linear editing systems, live transmission technology, and field production equipment.
Multiplatform Focus: Understands how visual storytelling translates across broadcast, streaming, digital, and social platforms.
Creative Eye: Ability to identify unique visual opportunities and elevate storytelling through composition, lighting, and sound.
Collaborative, dependable, and able to work effectively with reporters, producers, editors, assignment desk personnel, and digital teams.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum three (3) years of recent experience as a television news photojournalist. Access to an onsite fitness center and a variety of restaurants, cafés, and retail just steps from our Bethesda newsroom.

PAY Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $49.69 per hour.
