As a Middle Market Underwriter on our Regional Operations team, you will build upon your underwriting experience, foster valuable relationships with our broker community and manage a key book of business. Handle Risk Evaluation & Quoting
~ Evaluate risk and provide timely quotes for new and renewal business.

Oversee an assigned portfolio and monitor performance
Conduct field visits and attend client meetings to support account management and client satisfaction
Work closely with Claims, Marketing, and Loss Prevention
Participate in projects that enhance operations and customer experience
This role is remote based, with regular field travel required .

Applicants should be able to travel within your designated region for client visits, field meetings, and relationship development.

Underwriting experience in General Commercial Liability (GCL) and/or Workers' Compensation Insurance
Proactive, solution-oriented communication skills, with an emphasis on providing excellent customer service
Demonstrated ability to establish connections, build trust, and identify growth opportunities
Enthusiastic attitude toward challenges with a commitment to enhancing performance and quality
Selected candidate(s) hired may be required to attend in-person Onboarding at our Vacaville office with expenses for attendance paid by State Fund.

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee's monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period in accordance with the applicable bargaining contract.
