A growing engineering consulting firm is seeking a Civil Engineer to support water resources and water/wastewater infrastructure projects. In this role, you'll work alongside experienced engineers on projects that help communities maintain, improve, and expand critical infrastructure systems. You'll gain exposure to planning, design, permitting, construction support, and client interaction while developing the technical skills needed to become a successful consulting engineer.

Water and wastewater systems are critical to every community. You'll work on projects that make a direct impact on public health, environmental stewardship, and community development.

You'll work under the guidance of experienced Project Managers and senior engineers who are committed to teaching, mentoring, and developing the next generation of engineering professionals.

Unlike highly specialized roles, this position provides exposure to multiple aspects of engineering projects, including design, fieldwork, permitting, construction support, and client interaction. Apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and design principles to support infrastructure projects

Perform field investigations, site inspections, and construction support activities

Assist with engineering reports, permitting efforts, and project documentation

Support the planning and design of water resources and water/wastewater infrastructure projects

Perform engineering calculations and assist with technical analyses

Review construction drawings and project specifications

Coordinate with contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies

Work closely with project managers and senior engineers while developing your technical and professional skills

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering

• 0-3 years of professional engineering experience (internships and co-ops welcome)
• Engineer Intern (EI) certification or ability to obtain EI certification

Internship, co-op, or project experience related to civil engineering

Interest in water resources, municipal infrastructure, or water/wastewater engineering

Prior water/wastewater experience is not required. We are committed to training and developing engineers who are eager to learn and grow within the industry.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Bend, IN.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
