Head of Recruiting & HR

This strategic leadership role is responsible for the overall direction and execution of Human Resources and Organizational Development programs across all company facilities. This includes developing talent strategies, fostering a strong company culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and creating a safe, engaging, and productive work environment for all employees. The role partners with executive leadership to align HR with company goals and business growth.

Develops and maintains a human resources system that facilitates company needs.

Ensures organizational compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

Manages the employee staffing process, including but not limited to, recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding/orientation training.

Contracts with outside vendors to provide employee services, such as temporary employees, search firms, or relocation services.

Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, disciplinary action, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.

Maintains and communicates Company policies regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits.

Administers benefits programs such as life, health, and dental insurance, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.

Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.

Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.

Minimum 7 years of prior human resources management experience.

Minimum 4-Year degree or equivalent of directly-transferrable industry work experience (Human Resources, Business or Organizational Development preferred).

Successful experience as a Human Resources leader in a 200-500 employee Engineering and Manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of HR programs and practices, including applicable local, state and federal employment laws and regulations.

Ability to appropriately adapt communication content and styles based on audience.

Capability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.

Experience in coaching and developing subordinates, utilizing performance management tools and disciplines while increasing employee engagement and retention.

Strong verbal and written English language communication skills.

Competency with Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Ability to focus on a computer screen and other visual tasks for prolonged periods, with appropriate vision correction if needed.
