Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Our company has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at its Kearney, Nebraska facility. The Kearney plant, with over 500 employees, manufactures automotive engine valves and gears used in automotive, marine, and military applications. It is one of the largest valve manufacturing facilities in the world, producing nearly 300,000 valves per day. This position is responsible for identifying areas of inefficiency (productivity, quality, safety) within the manufacturing areas and use Six Sigma tools to make improvements while minimizing cost. Identifies processes within the manufacturing areas to improve using Six Sigma (variation reduction) methodology.

Leads cross-functional Six Sigma project teams and document resulting cost savings.

Supports manufacturing by participating on teams and assisting with corrective actions.

Tests process changes and collect data. Use Minitab for statistical analysis of data.

Implements improvements that result from project teams.

Utilizes change management to be sure facility systems are updated with all project improvement changes.

Lead capital projects from initiation phase through planning, managing and monitoring resources and successful completion.

Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required. - Minimum 3 years of engineering experience is required. - Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual basis without permanent company sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications: - Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment - Experience in valve manufacturing - Six Sigma Belt or higher - Experience with AutoCAD and Minitab Position Criteria: - Able to work well with people, individually and in groups - Able to handle multiple tasks - Detail oriented and able to work with minimal supervision - Have strong math skills and have an understanding of SPC, - Computer experience with using Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word. - Must be willing to provide any required production support, work off-shifts and travel periodically. - Frequently work with vendors and personnel from other of our company's facilities. - Ability to lead and manage individuals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. - All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
