Travel: As needed, up to 75%
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in a remote role in San Francisco/San Jose Bay Area reporting to the main office in Tustin, California. This position is responsible for the design of building electrical systems, including power, lighting, fire alarm, and special systems, with a strong emphasis on healthcare projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and detail-oriented engineer who is interested in professional growth and advancement into more leadership responsibilities, while working on complex, mission-critical projects.
Develop electrical system designs in accordance with project scope, client requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards.
Provide engineering planning, design, and construction administration services for:
Lighting and lighting control systems
Fire alarm systems
Other low voltage systems

Perform existing building surveys and document current electrical and fire alarm conditions.
Prepare, edit, and coordinate electrical specifications and construction documents.
Author engineering reports, assessment reports, and Basis of Design (BOD) documents.
Coordinate closely with internal project teams, architects, and other engineering disciplines.
Participate in and lead technical discussions, design coordination meetings, and client presentations.
Support construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and field coordination as needed.
Assist Project Managers with technical input, schedule coordination, and project execution.
Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of electrical design experience.
Experience with healthcare, science and technology, education, and/or commercial buildings is strongly preferred.
LEED accreditation or sustainable design experience preferred.

Proficiency in electrical engineering calculations, including:
Lighting photometric calculations
Voltage drop analysis
Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
Strong working knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and design guidelines.
High level of attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
