HED is looking to add an experienced team member to our group of talented Structural Engineers. As a Structural Engineer III at HED, you are a licensed professional with 4-8 years of experience, capable of taking a lead technical role on projects of increasing complexity and scope. With a deepening understanding of structural systems and interdisciplinary coordination, you apply strong engineering judgment, design acumen, and project experience to deliver resilient, code-compliant, and efficient structural solutions. You contribute to project execution, mentor junior staff, and help shape innovation and quality across the discipline. Lead the structural design and documentation for building projects of moderate to large complexity, ensuring technical excellence and coordination across disciplines.

Apply licensed engineering expertise to conduct structural analysis and design using tools such as RAM, RISA, ETABS, and Enercalc.

Develop and oversee the creation of detailed engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports.

Serve as a technical resource within project teams, assisting in establishing design direction, solving engineering challenges, and delivering integrated solutions.

Coordinate closely with architects, MEP engineers, and civil consultants to ensure consistency and completeness of design across disciplines.

Perform construction administration duties including site visits, RFI and submittal responses, and field reports.

Support quality assurance and quality control efforts, including the review of documentation prepared by junior team members.

Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Discipline Leader or project lead.

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering or similar related field, from an ABET/EAC accredited institution.

4-8 years of structural engineering experience in a professional setting.

Proficiency in Revit (core) preferred.

Proficiency in structural analysis tools such as RAM, RISA, ETABS, Enercalc or similar required.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to effectively communicate in writing and verbally via phone, video conferencing, and in-person.

Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.
