Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) position at a large acute care hospital in Birmingham, AL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and an active AL or compact RN license.
Details

• Night shift position, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Medical ICU (MICU) unit in an 8-bed department
• General/Medical ICU patient population
• Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on acuity
• Hands-on experience with ICU equipment including ventilators, vasopressors, arterial lines, and central venous lines (CVLs)
• EMR: Cerner
• Every other weekend required
• Float to other units as needed
• No on-call requirements

Active AL RN license or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration — no hits on license accepted
Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS (American Red Cross not accepted)
Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
Cerner EMR experience beneficial given unit usage
Additional Information

Provide critical care nursing to general/medical ICU patients, including management of ventilators, vasopressors, arterial lines, and CVLs
Navy scrubs required
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Joint Commission-accredited facility recognized for excellence in stroke care, cardiovascular services, and other specialty areas
