Directs the care of the patient through the nursing process and through collaboration with the patient, their family and other health care professionals. Must be able to work PRN Days, 7a-7:30p.

Continuously assesses patient needs through a holistic approach and communicates any changes in patient condition to physicians and other healthcare professionals. Adjusts treatment based on the multidisciplinary plan of care.

Documents interventions provided and supervises care delivery by unlicensed support staff.

Patient/Family Education and Support: Provides patient and family education regarding the disease process, treatment side effects, and health promotion. Documents education and support provided according to department standards.

Compliance and Quality Improvement: Ensures compliance with hospital policies and accrediting agencies. Participates in the development, review, and updating of policies and procedures. Actively engages in the Performance Improvement plan of the unit to enhance patient care quality.

Medical History Documentation and Medication Management: Obtains patient medical history and medication information and documents appropriately in the patient's medical record. Verifies and notes physician orders. Overall, this role involves a comprehensive approach to patient care, encompassing assessment, treatment planning, education, compliance, and medication management. It requires strong communication skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to quality improvement to ensure the delivery of safe and effective patient care.

Current Georgia State Registered Nurse License required

• 1-3 years RN experience in a bedside care setting preferred
• Oncology experience preferred
• Recent ICU and/or step down preferred
